About the course

This programme aims to enable learners to convey and exchange thoughts, ideas and information effectively through various mediums and approaches. Learners will communicate with others to share information, respond to general inquiries and obtain specific information.

Objectives

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Define and construct messages based on desired outcomes
  • Identify appropriate communication channels and processing techniques based on information processing techniques
  • Identify types of communication channels and tools to convey both public and confidential information
  • Select appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to convey and receive information across communication channels
  • Present ideas concisely and clearly with appropriate use of vocabulary
  • Apply listening techniques and EQ to engage and understand the audience
  • Apply questioning techniques to clarify information received

Minimum entry requirements

No formal qualification—Participants should be able to converse, read, and write in English at the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) and/ or Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4 proficiency level.

- Delivery - 12.5 hours

- Assessment - 1.5 hours
