Course Overview

WSQ FSC Level 3 is mandatory for all Food Hygiene Officers (FHOs), whether working in retail or non-retail food establishments licensed by SFA. Retail food establishments include hawker stalls, food stalls at canteens, and restaurants. Non-retail food establishments include food manufacturers and food processing plants. 

It is mandatory for certain types of SFA-licensed establishments to appoint FHOs.

The training and certification are provided by SFA-approved training providers such as Eduquest.

Food Handling Officers (FHOs) who also perform the activities of a food handler are required to attend FSC L1/L2 (Refresher) 5 years after passing FSC Level 3 and subsequently pass refresher training every 10 years to continue handling food. 

Food Handler Training Compliance

First refresher training requirement: To attain either WSQ FSC Level 1 or Level 2

Within 5 years from the date of initially passing the WSQ FSC Level 3

Second or subsequent refresher training: To attain either WSQ FSC Level 1 or Level 2

Every 10 years from the date of passing the previous refresher training

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will have the following knowledge and application skills to perform the following at the workplace:

  • Conduct food safety and hygiene checks.
  • Identify hygiene lapses and manage non-conformances.
  • Implement food safety and hygiene policies and procedures to ensure effective implementation of pre-requisite programmes and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)- based Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

Learning Outcomes

The course equips FHOs with knowledge and practical skills for conducting checks on cleanliness, personal hygiene, and food hygiene in food establishments. 

FHOs will also learn about the Pre-Requisite Programmes (PRPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.

WSQ FSC Level 3 has replaced the former WSQ Conduct Food & Beverage Hygiene Audit course.

Assessment

At the end of the course, candidates will be required to undergo a two-hour assessment consisting of a Practical Performance (PP) and a Written Assessment.

Participants who complete the course successfully will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Minimum Entry Requirement

Participants will be required to have the ability to converse, read & write in Chinese.

Attire

  • Wear Covered Shoes / Sneakers with socks
  • Wear Long / Full Pants
  • Have Clean, Short, Trimmed, Natural Nails (No Nailpolish, Gelish or Artificial Nails)
  • Tie up Medium / Long Hair neatly

Note: Trainees may be sent back to change their attire if they fail to meet the above requirements

Who Should Attend

All food hygiene officers (FHOs) working in retail or non-retail food establishments and in certain types of establishments that are licensed by SFA. This includes FHO working in:

  • Retail food establishments such as hawker stalls, food stalls at canteens, and restaurants.
  • Non-retail food establishments such as food manufacturers and food processing plants.

A Registration Fee of $10.90 (Incl. of 9% GST) will be collected upon course registration, and It is non-refundable.

Admin Fee for Absent and Reschedule: $32.70

Admin Fee for Make-up Session for Partial Absent, Appeal & Re-assessment: $54.50

Miscellaneous Fees refer to any non-compulsory fees which the trainees pay only when applicable. Such fees are normally collected by Eduquest when the need arises.
