1-day short programme to introduce breakfast dishes that are healthy and full of nutrients yet easy to prepare.
Breakfast dishes to be taught have been taken from various Health Promotion Board (HPB) recipes and are suitable for all ages, especially for the elderly and those who have difficulty in chewing or swallowing solids.
Participants will also be introduced to basic food nutrients and their functions based on Health Promotion Board (HPB) Healthy Plate guide to healthy eating.
At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
Understand the functions of nutrients found in the 5 major food groups from Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) healthy plate
Use recommended ingredients to prepare healthy breakfast that are suitable for the elderly and for those who have difficulty chewing or swallowing solid foods.

This programme is suitable for the following participants:
Kitchen manager tasked with menu planning in small to medium scale restaurants and / or catering who are keen to introduce healthy and nutritious dishes to their menus
Kitchen manager working in nursing homes looking to enhance menus with healthier food options
Cooks and / or staff tasked with preparing meals at childcare centres
Cooks from catering companies
Canteen operators for schools and other institutions
Food and Nutrition teachers from secondary schools, tertiary institutions and special schools offering culinary arts programmes to students
The programme will be delivered through lectures, show & tell, demonstration and hands-on practise.
At the end of the programme, participants will be awarded with a certificate of attendance issued by Eduquest International Institute.
